This is still rougher than LDA. It is rougher because it is a completely non-parametric method that does not assume a model, as LDA does.

Naive Bayes

Discrete variables and naive Bayes

The \alpha parameter of the Laplace rules can smooth out the probabilities when there are discrete features. Let’s test this out on the voting data.
